What We Do
Code Enforcement is responsible for identifying and addressing violations of municipal codes related to property maintenance, zoning, and nuisance concerns. Our duties include:

Property Maintenance Enforcement – Addressing issues such as high grass and weeds, accumulation of trash or debris, deteriorated structures, and unsanitary conditions.

Zoning Compliance – Ensuring properties are used according to zoning regulations and that any changes are consistent with the City's zoning code.

Illegal Dumping & Littering – Investigating complaints of dumping on public or private property and taking corrective action.

Inoperable Vehicles – Regulating the presence of non-functioning or abandoned vehicles on private property.

Public Nuisances – Mitigating conditions that pose a threat to public health, safety, or quality of life, such as stagnant water, infestations, or offensive odors.

Our Approach
The Code Enforcement team takes a compliance-first approach, working with property owners to achieve voluntary resolution whenever possible. Our process includes:

Investigation – Complaints are received and investigated promptly by trained enforcement officers.

Notice of Violation – Property owners are notified of violations and given an opportunity to correct the issue.

Follow-Up & Enforcement – If compliance is not achieved, the City may issue citations or pursue further legal remedies as allowed by ordinance.
